Introduction to Lino Printing
Saturday 23 March, 10 - 2.30pm with Anupa Gardner
Join skilled printmaker and experienced teacher Anupa Gardner for this half day workshop which will introduce you to the joys of lino cutting and printing. It would make a great Mother's day gift or it's a chance to come along and do something together with your mum During the workshop participants will explore different ways of mark making on easy-cut or traditional lino with the help of gouges to carve your A5 blocks. You will be shown a simple registration method and learn how to use the lino cutting gouges, transfer images onto blocks, and handprint using barens or spoons on different coloured paper. Feel free to bring a sketch or a simple digital printout (max size A5) or use one of our many resource prints! The workshop is 4 hours with a half hour break at lunchtime, you are welcome to bring lunch in to eat in the studio or there is a cafe next door. All materials and refreshments (tea/coffee/biscuits etc.) are provided, just bring a pinny.
