Summer Term - Art for Mindfulness

Starts Friday 26 April 10.00 - 12.30pm

Class Details

Treat yourself to 2.5 hours of relaxing and soothing your mind by making art. Each session will have a warm up exercise and then a main exercise, the aim is to help focus the mind on the task at hand and to learn a little bit more about yourself. Each class will start with a mini meditation of 3-5 minutes of breathing exercises. The class isn’t about making ‘aesthetic art’ but involves arty activities such as dotting mandalas and clay work as a way of being mindful and present. Everyone will be given a sketchbook to practice in between classes, which will run every second week of term. Sessions will aim for more understanding of emotions, identifying why you feel the way you do and letting go, with the added sensory work to help ground you. You will also be fuelled by copious quantities of tea, coffee and biscuits. All materials and refreshments are included in the course fee.
