Clay Sculpting
Sculpture Day with Marcela Tršová on Sunday 19th July from 10am - 4pm
Class Details
Explore, shape and create with clay Join us for a hands-on and creative day working with air-dry clay, where you’ll explore sculptural techniques to design and make your own personal, symbolic sculpture. This workshop encourages experimentation and intuitive making, helping you develop ideas through direct engagement with the material. With individual support from the tutor, you’ll be guided through the process of shaping and building your own unique clay artwork from start to finish. Perfect for beginners and those with some experience, this is a relaxed and supportive space to explore form, texture, and expression in three dimensions. What to expect We begin the day by looking at inspiring artists who use clay in expressive and contemporary ways, exploring different approaches to modelling and sculptural form. You’ll then be introduced to key clay modelling techniques, with a focus on creating simple vessel forms and sculptural structures. After some quick sketching to develop your ideas, you’ll begin working directly with the clay to bring your designs to life. Following a relaxed lunch break, you’ll continue developing and refining your sculpture with ongoing guidance and support. The day finishes with a friendly group sharing session where everyone presents their finished work.
