Landscape Painting in Acrylics
Two Day Workshop - Saturday & Sunday, 5 & 6 April 10am - 4pm, with Ben Hopkins
Class Details
A workshop exploring basics in landscape painting in acrylic. Over two days we will explore different concepts on how to conceive a landscape painting in an approachable way. One day will focus on seeing the tonal contrasts in the landscape and using them to describe the light affecting the scene, while the other we will think about composition and how to use it in a fun and inventive way to get across our personal view of a particular place. Each day will start with a brief discussion and task to get started thinking about the day's focus and end with a fun painting session outside (weather permitting) to explore concepts in a more creative way. The workshop will end with a chance to show and discuss the paintings and what you have learnt and explored during the workshop. Teaching will be focused on broad ideas and concepts within painting the landscape leaving participants free to use them to express themselves however they wish - although advice on technique will be on offer though individual discussions. All materials and refreshments provided morning and afternoon. You are welcome to bring a packed lunch or visit the excellent cafe next door. Suitable for all levels.
