Class Details

Formerly known as 'Anyone Can Draw 2' Improve your technique and develop your style. This course is designed for those who have some understanding of basic drawing and is the perfect follow on to Anyone Can Draw or other beginner drawing year-long courses. It’s also suitable for those returning to drawing after a break. Developing drawing by combining experimentation and practice, this course will encourage you to build on your current understanding of different media and techniques. Through a series of media-focused exercises, you will develop a personal project in your preferred medium inspired by a particular drawing style or movement. Each term will concentrate on a theme. Previous topics have included Reflection, Art Nouveau, illustration, classical drawing, Japanese flowers in Ink. The beginning of the term will be spent on exploration and building up skills in particular mediums, both in and sometimes out of the studio, as a class before developing the skills learnt into individual project work. You’ll be encouraged to develop your own style within a particular genre and challenged to partake in independent decision-making. Most importantly, however, you’ll be inspired to come each week and have fun with like-minded artists in a nurturing and supportive creative space. All materials and refreshments are included in the course fee.
