Summer Landscape Workshop

Sat & Sunday, 8 & 9 June, 10am - 4pm with Helen Jackson

Class Details

A two day workshop offering students the opportunity to create an acrylic or mixed media artwork inspired by the beautiful environment of the Royal Edinburgh Hospital Communal Gardens. Discover what fires up your imagination - is it the play of light, the colours and textures of plants or undergrowth, the beds of vegetation, the trees, the working tools of the gardener? Meeting at the location on the first morning our focus will be on gathering visual information by drawing in pencil; both quick sketches and more detailed works. Returning to the studio in the afternoon discover how to make pleasing compositions that encapsulate your chosen theme in a series of small studies using collage, watercolour and ink On the second day we will be creating a finished painting in the studio using the studies made over the previous day. All materials are supplied (or feel free to bring your own) as are refreshments morning and afternoon, and the class is kept small to ensure everyone gets some individual attention.
