EXPLORING WATER IN ITS MANY FORMS Water is one of the most fascinating and versatile subjects in art as it offers endless opportunities to explore light, texture and movement. In this 10-week project, students will delve into the art of depicting water in its various forms, learning techniques to convey its fluidity and everchanging nature. Each week, we’ll focus on a different aspect - from a single drop of water, the dynamic flow of water over rocks, still water in ponds with reflections to the vast expanse of the sea. Using mediums like watercolour, acrylic and even experimental textures, students will develop skills in colour blending, layering, and mark-making. This is an opportunity to study how light interacts with water - its reflections, refractions, and the way it enhances mood and atmosphere. By the end of the project, students will have not only mastered a variety of techniques but also created a portfolio of work that celebrates the beauty and complexity of water in all its forms.
