Discover the art of storytelling through our Comic and Graphic Novel Illustration course. Over seven weeks, you'll explore the fascinating combination of words and images and learn how to bring your imaginative narratives to life. Expect to look at a wide range of approaches and graphic novel/comic book artists and build a personal visual language rather than copying a single style. Each week combines short technical exercises with time to develop your own project, so by the end of the course you'll have a finished short comic of your own, from first sketch to final page. What you'll cover Character design: building figures that read clearly and hold personality across repeated drawings Panel composition: framing, cropping, and pacing a story across a page Perspective and setting: establishing a believable world around your characters Inking and mark making: developing a consistent linework style, from pen and ink to brush work Lettering and page layout: integrating text and image so they work together. Story structure: planning a short narrative with a clear beginning, middle, and end Who it's for No previous comic experience needed. A basic comfort with drawing is helpful, but the course is structured to build skills week by week, so complete beginners very welcome. What you'll come away with A completed short comic, several pages long, developed from your own idea and drawn in a style that's genuinely yours, along with a set of drawing and storytelling skills you can carry into any future project.
