Class Details
Wood Carving Workshop Discover the joy of carving wood by hand! Join us for a relaxed and inspiring day of wood carving and whittling, where you’ll be guided through the process of turning simple pieces of wood into unique, hand-carved objects full of character. This workshop is all about slowing down, working with your hands, and exploring your creativity in a supportive and friendly environment. Whether you’re completely new to carving or have some experience, you’ll be encouraged to experiment, follow your ideas, and develop your own personal piece with plenty of one-to-one guidance from the tutor. What you’ll do on the day We begin the morning by looking at inspiring artists who work with wood and discovering the many creative possibilities of this beautiful material. You’ll then be introduced to key carving techniques and shown how to safely shape and transform wood into 3D forms. After some quick sketching to develop your ideas, you’ll start carving right away- learning by doing, and building confidence as your piece evolves. In the afternoon- after a relaxed lunch break, you’ll continue refining and completing your work, with support and guidance throughout the afternoon.
